We were delighted to make our television debut at the Sunderland vs Middlesbrough match on Sunday 29th January 2012. The Tekkers brand was on the digital boards during the game which was broadcast to over 6 million viewers live on ITV.

It was a great experience for us and one which we will be looking to do again soon!

YOUNG FANS THE FUTURE FOR HEALTH OF FOOTBALL CLUBS

Sports franchises, particularly football clubs need to develop a fan recruitment strategy starting at an early age – according to a recent survey by football leisure lifestyle brand Tekkers (www.tekkers.co.uk).

In a recent UK wide independent survey of customers and non-customers Tekkers found that 78% of fans started supporting their favourite team before they were 10 years old with 35% doing so before they were 5 years old.

73% of respondents saw their first live sports event before they were 10 years old with 21% seeing their first live sport event before they were 5 years old.

“We’ve always known football fans start supporting their clubs at a relatively early age but hadn’t realised just how marked it was” commented Joe Sillett, Managing Director of Tekkers.

“The implications are very significant for football teams wanting to grow their long-term supporter base”.

“Seeing games live at the stadium helps but it seems support begins well before that”.

Whilst major football clubs run Soccer Schools from aged 8 (some clubs even younger), and it’s known for children to change club allegiances as a result of that type of experience, clubs may need to find a way of engaging with youngsters in new ways to begin to create loyalty to build long term fan bases.

Team Tekkers enjoyed a great night out at LoveDeFunk, Olivers Bar, Hornchurch on 6th October 2011. The evening, hosted by Jeff Brazier and attended by Tekkers Founder Andy Ansah, saw all of the ladies behind the bar sport Unbelievable Tekkers vests, with Repz DJ flying the Tekkers flag as well. The venue was packed, the music was fantastic and everyone had a brilliant night out!

The Tekkers team was delighted to be part of an excellent launch night at the brand new Choice Store, Lakeside Shopping Centre on Thursday 25^th August 2011. Among those attending were Tekkers Co-Founder Andy Ansah, Arsenal FC footballer Emmanuel Frimpong and rapper Lethal Bizzle.

David Beckham has TWO reasons to feel on top of the world after becoming a dad to Harper Seven - he’s also been voted the most influential sports star in the world by fans of clothing brand Tekkers.co.uk. Despite not having won a major trophy since 2007, Beckham’s footballing legacy, good looks and superstar status ensured he came above Euro Champion and world player of the year Lionel Messi in the poll. And it seems Olympic fever is already setting in for British sports fans, as the world’s fastest man, 100m gold medal champ Usain Bolt, was polled in 4^th place with swimmer Michael Phelps also making the list.

Tekkers has found its way into street slang for unbelievable technique, and Unbelievable Tekkers is now used to describe anything amazing.

My former career as a professional footballer and current role as a consultant / choreographer means that I get to work alongside many leading athletes and celebrities. The one thing they all have in common (besides possessing Unbelievable Tekkers) is that they all care about what they wear.

This inspired me and the Tekkers team to transfer the attitude of Unbelievable Tekkers into a range of lifestyle clothing for people who love quality fabrics and special attention to comfort, fit and feel.
